Recipient of the Month Millicent, an orphan, is one of the many girls supported by GGAC. Through hard work she managed to stand 45th out of 199 students in Form One (Grade 9). Around the world, 66 million girls are denied their basic right to an education. Approximately 576 million women worldwide are illiterate. Give Girls A Chance works to change these statistics through grassroots education projects in Canada and around the world. In an ideal world, there would be no more violence, hunger and all girls and women would have opportunities for education. Unfortunately, in our world, women confront a variety of obstacles on the road to obtaining an education.
