What is

Give Girls A Chance?

Educate a Girl. Change the World.

That's the motto for Tides Canada Foundation's Give Girls A Chance fundraising initiative created to provide educational opportunities for girls and young women in Canada and throughout the world.

Mission Statement: Give Girls A Chance (GGAC) is committed to raising funds to change the world through education. GGAC is unique in that it identifies grassroots educational programs for girls, and champions these programs because education is a basic right that is being denied to millions of girls around the world.

Give Girls A Chance is a fund of Tides Canada. The advisory board meets regularly in Toronto.

Monies from Give Girls A Chance support a wide-range of projects from schooling for girls in orphanages in Africa to helping teenage mothers in Canada continue their education.

How does GGAC raise money?

Currently, Give Girls A Chance raises funds through fitness walks, marathons, theatre events along with individual fundraising events. A growing number of concerned groups are holding a variety of fundraising events to aide the cause. The Donor Circle of Support consisting of committed supporters provides continuous support and in return is allowed input into the direction of the GGAC funding.

Hundreds of people have participated in runs supporting Give Girls A Chance and hundreds more have contributed by sponsoring runners or by making direct donations to the Fund.
