How Projects are Selected
Projects are selected according to the founding principles of Give Girls A Chance:
-
Projects must be administered by a registered Canadian group (this is required by Canadian Charitable Tax Law). Funds may not be given to an individual person.
-
Fifty percent of the money must go to projects for Canadian girls and the balance must be used for international projects benefiting girls.
-
The grants must spent on educating and the well-being of girls and young women.
-
Tides Canada confirms that all grants are made to registered Canadian charities in good standing, working in Canada or abroad.
The Advisory Board which includes a member of Tides Canada, evaluates and recommends where the grants will be distributed. All prospective grant recipients must be vetted by Tides Canada, have a proven track record and demonstrate am means of accountability.
All funds raised are dispersed within that year..
No proposals or requests for funding are being accepted at this time.
