"I have yet to visit any other learning environment in southern Africa that does a better job of girls' empowerment." - Stephen Lewis. Race Against Time. 2005 - CBC, Stephen Lewis Associates Ltd., House of Anansi Press Inc.

Around the world, 66 million girls are denied their basic right to an education. Approximately 576 million women worldwide are illiterate.

Give Girls A Chance works to change these statistics through grassroots education projects in Canada and around the world.

In an ideal world, there would be no more violence, hunger and all girls and women would have opportunities for education. Unfortunately, in our world, women confront a variety of obstacles on the road to obtaining an education.

Give Girls A Chance (GGAC) is committed to raising funds to change the world through education. GGAC is unique in that it identifies grassroots educational programs for girls and champions these programs because education is a basic right that is being denied to millions of girls around the world.

Give Girls A Chance is a fundraising initiative of Tides Canada.
